Tessa Rose grew up in a small mountain town in Colorado running through wild woods, making friends with trees and reading Lord of the Rings by the fire. Art was a central piece of her early life. As a child, she filled notebooks and journals with drawings of characters from fantasy worlds. Not much has changed. She went on to receive a bachelors degree in English, with an emphasis on creative writing, and minoring in studio arts from the University of Colorado, Boulder. There, she found an affinity for writing fantasy stories. She wrote several novels, each better than the last. In her work, she to merges feminism, pleasure, mysticism, and self-discovery.
As a storyteller, Tessa Rose represents a mystic journey in her art–each piece representing a hidden tale. Using paint and digital programs, she explores identity and expression. And through portraiture of monsters and maidens, she finds new manifestations of herself.
Currently, Tessa Rose is completing an MFA in Popular Fiction at USM Stonecoast while selling her art at local shows in Denver, Colorado.

I strive to break down the barriers between the subconscious and reality through art. The veil of the mind pulls back to reveal colorful imagination and true desire when you sit back to listen. Browse through my art, each piece charged with intention.
